Triplets, 19 Days Old

11/23: Yesterday I had a doctor's appt and I also met with my Lactation Specialist who both recommended I rest a bit more! Being tired and wiped out affects milk supply and we surely don't want that! I have 3 babies to feed!!! So, we slept until 930am today--well, we did get up and pumped at 1am, 4am, and 7am!! After breakfast we headed to the hospital! Austin, Matthew and Emily looked great!! When we arrived the Hearing Specialist was with the babies! Emily had already had her hearing test and she was close to finishing Matthew's hearing test. They both passed! She started Ausin's test and he was not being cooperative. He failed the first time and she tested him again. He was still shifting and moving quite a bit and the test was inconclusive. She will be back tomorrow to retest. Hopefully he will be in a better mood! If you are wondering how they test a baby's hearing---since they can't raise their hand to tell you what side the beep is being heard---they put these electrodes on their head and then they put a sound device in each ear. The electrodes pick up brain waves if the sound is being heard! Pretty interesting!!! The babies are doing well today! We had a great visit! I was able to carry both boys at the same time for the first time!! What a great feeling! Dad was holding Emily--so all three babies got love from Mom and Dad at the same time!!! Big achievement today--Emily broke 4 lbs!! Way to go Emily!!!
Important Updates:
Austin weighed 3 lbs 14 oz, started on 34 mls every 3 hrs
Matthew weighed 3 lbs 15 oz, started on 34 mls every 3 hrs
Emily weighed 4 lbs 1/2 oz, 34 mls every 3 hrs

Praying you get some much needed rest. It so hard at times for parents to take care of themselves but so incredibly necessary.

Hang in there! You are such wonderful and loving parents. Emily, Matthew, and Austin are so lucky to have you both.

I knew that girls rule!! Emily is going to be the boss of the those two boys. I can just hear her. Maybe that is because I have one of those very talkative girls named Christy. I think you know her. She bossed her brother around a bit and he was 6 years older and actually it was more than a bit.

Nellie lack of sleep causes lots of problems so you sleep so those kids get home with you soon. My problem with nursing was I did not drink enough water and boy that created problems as well.
