Dad's Update

3/4: Hard day for my Dad today!! I can't imagine what he is going through. I am so sad and all I can do at this time is pray. It is very difficult to plan a trip right now. I have friends who have said they will come and help Rob. I may have to do some serious thinking about a trip in the next few days. I am praying tonight that my Dad has a good night and that tomorrow he starts his recovery!

March 2012

3/3: Where does time go? I haven't blogged in so long, I had trouble remembering my password. I am so sad that I have not kept up with this blog that has meant so much to me! I started this blog because I know that I am a very forgetful person and I didn't want to forget my experiences as a MOM! So, tonight I have promised myself to make time to document our experiences with my very special miracles, My Austin, My Emily and My Matthew!!

Today, we had rain and more rain. Tornado warning, severe weather warnings and flash flood warnings! Alabama weather is crazy!

My morning started early, just like every morning. At 545am, I heard Austin going potty! I got up and he was undressing and ready for the day! The others joined him soon after and so did Daddy!

The days are long and hard. I am constantly exhausted which is why my blogging stopped. Tonight, I am tired and a bit overwhelmed but I know that being a MOM is the most important thing in my LIFE! I promised to blog more because there is soooo much the kids are doing and I certainly do NOT want to forget.

Memorable moments today:
Emily told me she loved me about 100 times! oh, and she needs to hug and kiss me each and every time!! I love this girl! She is sooo amazing!

Matty finished eating his ice-cream after dinner, looked at me and gave me a thumbs UP! He is sooooo cute and adorable! Gosh, I love him!!

Austin was so sleepy as I tucked him in but he opened his eyes, looked at me and said, "Love you, MOMMA"! Melted my heart!!

Dr. Seuss' Birthday

3/2: It is a rainy Friday! Today is Dr. Seuss' Birthday! To celebrate we watched The Cat in the Hat with Mike Myers! WOW! The kids absolutely LOVED it!! They were soooo serious watching it! I was amazed! Tonight we had Tornado warnings!! We made our homemade pizza while we watched the weather updates on TV!! Very scary! I was very worried about Rob driving home in the bad weather and was very thankful when he made it home safely!! What a DAY!!!

Valentine's Week 2012

2/14: So, we celebrated Valentine's Day ALL week!! It started Sunday night. I spent about 2 hours addressing Valentine cards for our very FIRST Valentine Party! The party had 20 guests! That meant I had to address 19 Valentine cards for each child and attach 2 lollipops to each card! The party was a success for us. A bit scary for me because I was taking the TRIO alone and the party was at a restaurant. Overall, they did great! The party organizer had stickers for the kids to decorate their Valentine boxes. BTW, I could NOT find shoe boxes so this clever MOMMA used Huggies plastic wipe boxes for their Valentine boxes! They worked amazingly!! The kids had a blast! I let them eat candy and more candy and then I confiscated everything!

Monday nite I had to address and fill goody bags for their classmates at MDO! It was fun and a bit easier since it is a small class!! I also baked cupcakes for their class! They had a great Valentine party on Tuesday at MDO but once again, I let them eat a few pieces of candy and was forced to confiscate candy again!

On Wednesday, we celebrated by baking heart shaped Strawberry cakes! They were super yummy! The Trio helped with every step...even turning the mixer on! My Mom used to make every holiday special for us! She would get us special little things. This was the first year that I celebrated Valentine's Day by getting something special for each of the kids. Unfortunately, Rob was working evening shift and I had to give them their special heart chocolate without Daddy! BUT, they LoVED it!!!

Feliz Cumpleaños Papí

10/24: Today is my Father's birthday! I am blessed with a great father! Feliz Cumpleaños!! He is very old school. He reprimanded us with the 'stare'! We knew he meant business! He didn't discipline much. He didn't have to at all. We knew that if it got to the point were 'apa was involved, we would be in deep trouble!! I love my father. I love that he taught us to be good children. He taught us to respect our Mother. He taught us to respect our elders. He taught us how to survive in life. He taught us how to live life within our means and to always appreciate what we have. He taught us NOT to live on credit but to save for what we want in life. He taught us an incredible work ethic. He is an immigrant but he taught himself how to be a crane operator-a good, honest skill and we never lacked anything. I am proud of my father and the MAN that he is! Te AMO Papí, que tengas un día hermoso!

Cooler Temperatures

10/22: We had our fireplace pilot lit this week! This morning, temps dropped to 39 degrees! It was chilly in the house! What a perfect opportunity to have our first fire of the season! The kids loved it and loved watching the fire!Last year I bought these outfits! I thought they were sooo cute! Although they are 24 months, they were really big for them last year so we couldn't wear! So excited that they finally got to wear them and that it was actually cool enough to wear them! Yay!

Tears and Exhaustion

8/31: Today Rob reminded me that I have not blogged in a while. I am not sure why I have not because I love to write and share about our amazing babies! So, I decided to take time tonight to write how I am feeling! Last night around midnight Matty came to our room. Coughing woke him up and kept me awake. I got up and got baby Robitussin but that stuff is just nasty so I could not get him to take it at all! Rob can sleep through anything so he told me he would stay w/Matty and for me to go sleep in the guest room! By this time it was 1:45 am. At 4:30 am I woke up and came back to our room and Rob was in the shower and what do I find? Matty fully awake and greeted me with, "hi, Mommy"! Seriously? Then he asks me "where is Austin?". I tell him Austin is sleeping but he didn't believe me and went to their room to check. Came back and asked for Mickey Mouse. I turned tv on and we watched cartoons for several hours! The day DID NOT get better! Today, was a rough day! We had NOT had such a bad day in a very long time! I say BAD because I seldom am reduced to tears because I have screaming, whiny and cranky babies!! At moments like this I do cry! I do pray! I take a moment to breathe and refocus. As luck would have it, Rob had to work 2 extra hours today and although he was just as tired as I was, when he did get hom, he let me have some time alone for a nap and quiet time. I love my three beautiful babies and so grateful that I AM tired because a baby kept me awake!! So, tomorrow will be another day and will bring more kisses and hugs and probably a bit of screaming and crying as well!

Memorial Day Weekend

5/27: We were so blessed this weekend!! Tricia came to visit us from New York! Tricia and our 3 Peas are the only Walter Grandkids!! We had an amazing weekend! She arrived early Friday am! Rob made his awesome Gyros w/homemade Tzaziki & his homegrown tomatoes for lunch (if Rob has cooked this meal while you have visited us...you know how awesome this lunch is...!) After naps, we decided to take full advantage of another grown up w/us and we took the Peas to the movies for the VERY first time!! We went to see Kung Fu Panda II! It went very well!! We lost their attention in the last 15 min or so of the movie! They also ate popcorn for the very first time and loved it! WE all had a grea time!! Not sure when we will do again but will try again!!
