2 Month Check-Up

1/22: We had a very busy day today. This morning's 5am feeding found me incredibly tired and sleepy. As we have come to do, without planning, if one of us is tired we take over and do the entire feeding alone while the other sleeps. This morning, Rob fed babies alone and I slept. So, when I woke up babies were fed and Rob was doing some banking on the pc. I jumped in the shower, got dressed and started getting babies ready. Having to get 3 babies ready is not easy! Rob and I have to work as a team in order to get out of the house on time! On the way out the door I did manage to pop a couple bagels in the toaster and take them to go!! Our pediatrician here is great! We really like our healthcare here and are bummed that we have to leave this awesome team! The appt was very smooth and the babies were very cooperative! After the appt we had to go home quickly because we were expecting the movers to pick up our small pre-pack pick up. This is the stuff that will be there when we arrive in Alabama. Rob tended to the movers while I quickly fed the babies as we were 30 minutes late in their feeding and they were not happy with us! I fed the babies, then pumped and then we were out the door again. We visited my office! I miss my coworkers and wanted them to meet our babies! The babies slept through the whole visit and I even managed to sit with my boss for a short meeting!

Leaving Hawaii

My blogging days are limited now! Babies take much of my time! In a good way! I am so happy to be a mom that I relish everything that we have to do with our babies! The last few weeks have been incredibly chaotic! I have not answered email or even returned phone calls because we have been so busy! Let me recap what has transpired.

22 JAN Last PEDS appt for the babies in Hawaii!

23 JAN Last mtg with State Nurse

26-28 JAN MOVERS! OMG - I can not tell you how good our movers were! They were so patient and understanding! They let us keep our bed and baby stuff until the last moment! A BIG MAHALO to one of the best friends a gal can have---MEEGAN! She was with me the entire three days helping me with babies! She changed so many diapers and got spit up countless times! She is a real trooper and those three days would have been traumatic for me if not for MEEGAN! I love you, my friend!!!
Our house in Hawaii! We will miss this house as this is the first home our Peas had!

29 JAN - 10 FEB Move in with Issis! WE are so incredibly blessed with good friends! We stayed with Issis and the kids for a few days! This was really hard because the babies were having a difficult time with the transition. They cried alot and we kept Issis and her kids up many times. Thank you, my friend, for opening your home to all of us!! I know this was not easy!! This was the first time the babies were out of their comfort zone!

10 FEB We flew my little sister to Hawaii to help us fly with the babies! She arrived and was our first family member to meet the Peas!! Ellie-thank you for always having such a giving heart and always saying yes! Traveling would have been 10X more difficult if we had not had you with us! For the first time since our babies came home from the hospital, I got more than 4 hours sleep! Ellie just took over and let me catch up on some much needed sleep! I get tears in my eyes thinking back how tired I was when she arrived and what a breath of fresh air she came with!! I love you my sister!! The last 3 days in Hawaii were alot of fun because we did lots of shopping with Ellie! We ate and shopped and changed lots of diapers in between!
Ellie meets Austin, Matthew and Emily for the first time!Ellie's first diaper change! Yes, it was a poopie diaper!!Hangin' out with Babies!!!
10 FEB - 13 FEB HILTON Hawaiian Village -The last three days in Hawaii we spent at the Hilton! Oh, what fun! This hotel is so beautiful!!! After sleeping on an air mattress for weeks this bed was like a marshmallow!!! This was a real treat! This was our view from our balcony!
We will MISS Hawaii very much! This was our last sunset in Hawaii and we felt a little sad. We have such amazing memories here and Hawaii will always have an amazing place in our hearts! We had our beautiful babies here and feel so blessed that we lived three wonderful years in this beautiful state!!!

Inauguration Day

1/20: President Obama! What an amazing ceremony. Rob and I watched this historical event in bed while we fed our beautiful babies! I am amazed and watched in wonder! What an amazing day! Tonight was pretty rough! Emily and Austin decided they did not want to sleep at all! Both were pretty fussy all night! We got very little sleep!! This morning I decided to catch up on blogging! Honestly, there just isn't enough time in a day! Three babies will do that to you!! I had started a few blogs and will post them today. I also have pics to post and hopefully I will get to those today as well! Thank you for your continued support in the form of phone calls, prayers, and cards! Also, we are still receiving baby gifts and we truly appreciate all who have sent their love! Many thanks!!

Emily

Austin1/19: The weather is still chilly--yes, 69 degrees is really cold for Hawaii! The babies have slept alot today! I believe it is because it is so "wintery" today! We had several visitors today. Yuree, Jessica and Baby Heather came to meet the babies today. We had a great visit. Thanks Yuree for bringing so many goodies for the babies!! The outfits for Emily are so incredibly cute! I love the onesie that says, "Does this diaper make my butt look big?" So cute! Issis and the Betts clan also visited for a little while! Rob and I had a productive day! Preparing baby stuff for our trip!! Lots to pack and lots to prepare for!!

Bellows Beach

Austin with Auntie Meegan 1/17: So, Rob and I had a crazy idea! "Let's pack up the kids and go spend one last night in a cabin on Bellows Beach". Bellows is our favorite beach and you are able to rent a cabin for $80 a night so we wanted to do one last trip! OMG--there is so much to pack with three babies!! So, maybe this wasn't our brightest idea! The beach was beautiful but it was cold! We have had unseasonably cold weather here in Hawaii! We invited Issis and the kids to go with us. Rob and Stevie and Xander spent about 15 minutes in the water before giving up because it really was cold!! This was a trial run on packing for the kids. Well, we didn't forget anything except stuff for us. I forgot to bring my toiletries--I had a toothbrush but nothing else! It truly is amazing that you really forget about yourself and only worry about babies! The one great thing about this weekend was that on Sunday morning before checking out Meegan brought us Banana Pancakes with MacNut sauce! YUMMY! Thanks Meegan, you are awesome! We enjoyed the pancakes soooo very much and thanks for helping with a feeding this morning!

Last Eye Appt

Dad feeding Emily with boys next to him.

1/15: The boys had one last eye appt today! The exam is to check for retinopathy which is due to babies being premature. This is the 4th time they have had the exam. It truly is hard to see and we were thrilled that the boys were cleared and they will not need another exam until they are 8 months old! Yay!! Today we also had two important appts. First we had the moving company come and do the pre-inspection. WOW! It is really happening and happening FAST! We also had the housing mgr come and do their pre-inspection. We are hoping that we will clear everything fast and as easy as possible!

Truck goes Bye-bye

Meegan & Jonathan with AustinJonathan with Emily

1/14: State nurse, Brooke, visited us today! The exam was wonderful! Every time we meet with her we learn very much! This is for the early intervention program. All premature babies qualify for state funded programs that focus on early intervention for the babies. If any kind of therapy is needed, it is provided. Auntie Meegan was here today helping us out with a few feeding shifts! She is wonderful with the babies and loves to hold and cuddle them!! Actually, Meegan was helping us out two-fold. She went to pick Rob up at Sand Island. Our truck shipped today! It is amazing how fast everything is going! The truck is gone and believe it or not, all 3 car seats fit in our Honda! We were pleasantly surprised!! Jonathan met her out here and we enjoyed having two extra set of hands for feedings!!!
