Triplets, 29 Days Old

12/03: My whole night was spent in pain! My left breast was so swollen and engorged and believe me a really bad experience. I tried to sleep but I did get up and I pumped every 2 hours. My breast did not get better! It was awful! By morning I still did not have relief. Rob got up and made breakfast and then we got ready to go to the hospital. We spent time with the babies. I met with the lactation specialist once again. It was another hard session of pumping and massaging. My breast has started to feel better but milk production is extremely low! Austin, Matthew and Emily will be getting mainly formula today. We fed all three babies while we were there. I fed Matthew and Rob fed Emily and Austin! Austin is improving with his bottle feeding! Yay!! We were also informed that tomorrow they will start weening Austin off his vaportherm! This means progress!! Please continue to keep our family in your prayers!!
Happy Thoughts: One of our favorite nurses, Heather, brought gifts for our babies--she got our babies Christmas monkey stuffed animals that have a pacifier, little bibs that say, "My first Christmas" and they are holding a candy cane with their tails! They are so cute!! Mahalo Heather!!!
Important Updates:
Austin weighs 4 lbs 7 oz (2035 grams)
Matthew weighs 4 lbs 10 1/2 oz (2115 grams)
Emily weighs 4 lbs 10 oz (2105 grams)

Those cuties are really starting to pack on the weight everyday. Hurray Babies!!!! I bet you guys are going to have a wonderful celebration at Christmas. Think of the years ahead with three sets of twinkling eyes on Christmas morning.

Christy told me she is babysitting for you once a month when you get moved. Boy, I wish I was there to help as well. Maybe when I come to visit, Christy and I will send you two on an adventure. She is so funny. She told me exactly how she could handle three babies at one time and you know, I believe she is one who can do it. She has it all planned out----the feeding, the rocking, the comforting---The entire process is set!

Once again prayers for your little family are filling the heavens tonight. We are all so excited to hear that the babies are doing so well.

Nellie hang in there! As a mom, I feel your pain regarding the milk ducts. Moments like these for any new Mom can be exhausting both emotionally and physically. In just a few short weeks you have blossomed into an amazingly loving and devoted mother. Those babies are so very lucky to have you. You are so selfless!

Please when you can, take time out to nuture yourself. Rest, drink lots of liquids, and maybe even try hot compresses. If you are in real pain and can't get relief try a hot shower. It really works. Then pump right after your shower.

What a wonderful Christmas gift! Seems that they are all doing so well. If it's true and you DO get to take Matthew home...then maybe Emily and Austin won't be far behind... and they might all be home by Christmas!! They are such achievers.. ahead of plan... They might all be out before the 8 weeks~ God willing~
